Overview of Teacher Training Initiatives
In August 2023, teacher training programmes commenced in Lahore, Pakistan, marking a significant step in educational development within the region. The Foundation has actively partnered with Joseph De Piro High School in Lahore to facilitate these initiatives, aiming to enhance the professional skills of educators and improve teaching standards. Another teacher training programme was held in October and November 2025, when Marguerite Agius continued training Early Years and Primary School teachers.
Collaboration with the University of Malta
As part of its commitment to advancing educational practices, the Foundation has arranged online training sessions for teachers. These sessions have been delivered by lecturers from the Faculty of Education at the University of Malta, enabling participants to benefit from expert guidance and contemporary pedagogical approaches regardless of geographical barriers.
Future In-Person Training
Looking ahead, further training is scheduled to take place in April 2026. Marguerite and Roderick Agius will travel to Lahore once again to provide in-person training for teachers, offering valuable opportunities for face-to-face learning and the exchange of best practices through the use of technology.
Future Collaborations and Opportunities
The New Beginning Foundation is planning to expand its support for teacher development by collaborating with the Malta Leadership Institute. As part of this partnership, a number of scholarships will be made available to teachers, enabling them to pursue further accredited teacher training and continue their professional growth.
